TNA Champion Nic Nemeth had high praise for this recent WWE NXT match.
On November 6th, WWE NXT emanated from the legendary 2300 Arena, formerly known as the ECW Arena. The show sold out within just one day of tickets being on sale, and multiple WWE Hall of Famers and ECW legends were in attendance.
NXT Champion Trick Williams teamed up with WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray on the show to take on the team of Ethan Page and Ridge Holland. In a surprising result, Holland scored the pinfall victory for his team when he rolled up Williams. After the bout, D-Von Dudley made a surprise appearance to help fight off Page and Holland.
Speaking on the latest edition of Busted Open Radio, TNA Champion Nic Nemeth gave his thoughts on the match, calling Holland the “real winner” as he scored the pinfall and is likely in line to challenge Williams for the championship. According to the former Dolph Ziggler, the bout planted seeds for long term booking and helped everyone involved.
“I don’t think it ends here. I think it plants seeds for long-term booking. But also, when it comes down to it…you can’t just always get what you want. Sometimes it’s got to be taken away from you. So you talk some trash, sometimes you get your mouth cracked and sometimes you go through a table. But eventually, on the outside looking in, everybody got something in that segment I thought, which was very cool.”
In recent news, Nunzio spoke about his match on the November 6th episode of WWE NXT.
Nic Nemeth Explained How WWE NXT Bout Had Something For Everyone
Continuing, Nic Nemeth explained how the tag team match was a perfect blend of ECW nostalgia as well as highlighting up-and-coming stars.
“We got to see the legend, we got to see Bubba get a little bit of revenge, clean house, kick ass, everything. And then you still get that special moment where it’s like the theoretical passing of a torch, but going ‘Hey, this is the guy. This is the next up and coming guy. Let’s go with him.’ And you get that in the ECW Arena, with Bubba in the old school gear, and it’s like…you still get the feeling of that nostalgia mixed in with anointing of an up and coming guy. Very cool I thought.”
In other TNA news, a major title change occurred on the latest episode of Impact.
In a new episode, Nic Nemeth named his unsung hero of AEW.
