Former TNA star Jonathan Gresham revealed shocking health news and has decided to step away from the ring for several weeks following two strokes.
Two days ago, I woke up and couldn’t walk or move the left side of my body. I couldn’t see and could barely talk. It took me 30 minutes to dial 911, but I finally did. I woke up in the hospital, couldn’t remember what had happened. They told me they had done an MRI and I had two strokes,” Gresham wrote on X.
Gresham woke up in the hospital with no memory of the whole incident. The doctors looked at the MRI scans and told him he had suffered two strokes. The medical tests came back clean, which left the doctors unsure about the exact cause. The only potential explanation offered was complications from a severe COVID case Gresham contracted many weeks ago.
The TNA star gave his fans an estimate of how long he will be out of the ring.
Needless to say, I will be taking the next 2-4 weeks off from wrestling to recover and get cleared fully by my neurologist,” Gresham wrote in his message.

Jonathan Gresham’s Wife Jordynne Grace Wasn’t At Home At The Time
In the same tweet, Gresham cited that his wife, WWE NXT star Jordynne Grace, was away from home due to wrestling commitments. And he added his unawareness on the stroke until she showed him a photo of how he looked:
My wife saw me get carted off from the house on our Ring doorbell camera and somehow flew from Orlando to Atlanta in time that she was there when I woke up. I wasn’t fully convinced I had a stroke until she showed me this photo of how my face looked. I never thought this would be something for me to worry about at 37 years old.”
Gresham has built an impressive career across multiple wrestling promotions. He became Ring of Honor World Champion in 2021 after defeating Jay Lethal at Final Battle. He was also the CZW World Heavyweight Champion in Combat Zone Wrestling and Progress World Champion in Progress Wrestling.
Gresham’s recent time with TNA included recent appearances with a mask and a sinister character. His most recent match was against Pete Dunne on August 2 at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV, which he lost.
