TKO Executive Says Different WWE Deal With Netflix Was Considred Before Raw

WWE Raw On Netlfix Premiere Edited, Which Segments Were Affected?

More details on a past WWE deal before Raw on Netflix happened.

Last year, in January 2024, WWE announced an extremely valuable deal with the streaming giant. Estimated to be valued at around $5 billion, the partnership officially started earlier this year on 6th January 2025.

While only Raw moved to the online service in the USA, all other content made the jump to the streaming giant in the International market. Recently, appearing on the Pat McAfee show, TKO executive Ari Emanuel opened up on the deal, and how something else was previously considered.

“I had a breakfast with Bella. She runs all of content programming underneath [Netflix CEO] Ted Sarandos at Netflix. We did a presentation to her, and all of a sudden, we first started talking about NXT, and it immediately moved to Raw. Over Christmas a year and a half ago, we’re on Zoom, it’s all approved, we have to have a conversation with Ted Sarandos, he’s in London seeing Stranger Things play. We get on Zoom, [Mark] Shapiro and I, he’s with his CFO, it all gets done, we hang up the phone, we do a jig.”
