The NXT and NXT UK Championships are set to be unified at Worlds Collide!
Last week at NXT Heatwave, multiple members of the NXT UK roster made their presence known in an invasion of sorts. First, Gallus attacked the members of Diamond Mine before later challenging Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen to an NXT UK Tag Team Championship match. Later on, Blair Davenport ripped up a letter that Indi Hartwell had received, presumably from her estranged husband Dexter Lumis.
After Bron Breakker successfully retained his NXT Championship by defeating JD McDonagh in the main event of the show, NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate appeared and stood toe to toe with Breakker in the ring. The show went off the air with both men holding their respective championships high.
One week later, Breakker opened NXT 2.0 by challenging Tyler Bate to come out and face him again, and sure enough, Bate made his way to the ring. The Mustache Mountain member said that he knows how formidable a competitor JD McDonagh is, and that he respected Breakker for being able to defeat him.
He then turned his attention to the upcoming Worlds Collide show that will take place on September 4th, issuing a challenge to unify the NXT and NXT UK Championships. Breakker accepted the challenge, saying that NXT is where the best competitors are, and that there should be only one NXT Champion.

The two shook hands in a show of respect, and once again raised their championships over their heads.
Though Tyler Bate is appearing on NXT 2.0 television with his NXT UK title, his title win has yet to be aired on NXT UK. Officially, he’ll have been champion for just four days by the time Worlds Collide takes place on September 4th.
Later in the episode, Blair Davenport took to the microphone after defeating Indi Hartwell, reminding everyone that she was the number one contender for the NXT UK Women’s Championship. She said, however, that becoming NXT Women’s Champion would suit her just fine, so she called out current champion Mandy Rose.
Mandy Rose took exception to this, and reminded the NXT UK star that she’d been champion for over 300 days and was dominant in NXT, saying that Davenport needed to put some resepect on her name. However, the pair were interrupted by the appearance of current NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura, who commentary called the “most respected woman in this industry.”

Satomura took to the microphone, saying:
“Mandy, you are wrong. You are not the most dominant Women’s Champion. That would be me!”
In response, Mandy Rose said that the best way to put respect on her name would be to beat a legend like Satomura, which led the NXT UK Women’s Champion to lay down the challenge for a champion vs. champion match at Worlds Collide.
Not content to let the match go forward without her, Blair Davenport interrupted to remind everyone once again that she’s the number one contender, leading to Satomura declaring that it would be a triple threat match, which was made official on NXT’s social media.
