Former NXT Superstar Tino Sabbatelli has returned to WWE, according to PWInsider.
Sabbatelli had departed the company as part of a plethora of cuts earlier in the year, and even appeared on AEW Dark, but is now back with NXT under a new deal. Using the name Sabby, Sabbatelli appeared on the July 21, 2020, episode of AEW Dark, teaming with Brady Pierce in a losing effort against Best Friends.
While in NXT, Sabbatelli debuted in 2016 alongside Riddick Moss in the 2016 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The pair then made sporadic appearances on the brand before re-entering the tournament in 2018, losing to Sanity in the first round. Tino Sabbatelli would turn on Moss, who is now a member of the RAW roster, but suffered a torn pectoral muscle shortly after.
Meanwhile, Ace Steel, AKA Chris Guy, who had endured a similar fate, is back working as a coach for NXT. Guy was present at recent tryouts, which featured second generation star Colby Corino, former EVOLVE star Anthony Henry and GCW and New Japan Strong star Blake Christian.
WWE recently confirmed their latest intake of developmental talents, with Brandi Lauren, Curt Stallion, Anthony Greene, Leon Ruff, Joe Gacy, Josh Briggs, Jacob Kasper and Jake Clemons joining the company.
