Timothy Thatcher last competed in NXT on the August 24th, 2021 episode, where he lost to Ridge Holland. After a brutal attack following the match, Thatcher was written off television and served primarily in a backstage role until his release from the company on January 5th, 2022 alongside notable backstage names such as Road Dogg and former NXT General Manager William Regal. He has made a number of independent appearances following his release.
Also included in the January 5th set of releases was Thatcher’s Suzuki-gun teammate Hideki Suzuki, who was originally set to be part of the Diamond Mine faction before plans changed. Other original Diamond Mine members included Tyler Rust, Arturo Ruas, Marina Shafir, Roderick Strong, and manager Malcolm Bivens. Of these original members, only Roderick Strong remains with the company.
