Thunder Rosa vs Britt Baker Bout Postponed

Thunder Rosa attacks Britt Baker. Match postponed.

The bout between Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa scheduled for night two of AEW’s New Year’s Smash has, unfortunately, had to be postponed.

As reported in The Wrestling Observer, this is due to Thunder Rosa having come into contact with someone who had tested positive for COVID-19. The bout was pulled from the line up as a precautionary measure, and the intention is to still run the match between the two at a future date.

Due to the postponement, some changes had to be made to the card, and we will now see Baker host the Dynamite debut of her Waiting Room interview segment, with guest Cody Rhodes. In further alterations to the card, a match for the NWA Women’s Championship between champion Serena Deeb and challenger Tay Conti has been added.

The rest of New Year’s Smash Night Two will include:

  • The Inner Circle reveal their new year’s resolutions
  • Chuck Taylor vs Miro – If Miro wins, Taylor must become Miro’s ‘young boy
  • Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt vs FTR
  • PAC vs Eddie Kingston
  • Darby Allin vs Brian Cage
  • The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) vs TBA
