Thunder Rosa To Receive NWA World Women’s Championship Rematch

Rosa NWA rematch

Thunder Rosa is getting her rematch for the NWA World Women’s Championship less than a month after losing the title to Serena Deeb.

AEW has announced that the former champion will receive her rematch for the title on the November 18 AEW Dynamite. Deeb dethroned Rosa to become the new champion on the October 27 edition of UWN Primetime Live. Rosa held the championship for an impressive 277 days before the loss to Deeb.

The match was first teased when Thunder Rosa returned to AEW on the Full Gear Buy-In, confronting Serena Deeb after a successful title defence against Allysin Kay. Rosa has not wrestled on AEW television since teaming with Hikaru Shida in September. The duo defeated the winners of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup, Diamante and Ivelisse.

Wednesday’s huge rematch marks only the third time Serena Deeb has defended the title. Aside from the previously mentioned win against Allysin Kay, Deeb also defeated Leyla Hirsch on the October 28 edition of Dynamite.

After NWA President Billy Corgan shot down reports that she was leaving the promotion, Thunder Rosa could be set to win her NWA World Women’s Championship rematch. Should Serena Deeb lose, her reign will be the shortest in the title’s history since Corgan purchased the NWA.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite will now feature:

  • PAC vs. The Blade
  • Serena Deeb vs Thunder Rosa for the NWA World Women’s Championship
  • Darby Allin and Cody Rhodes vs. Brian Cage and Ricky Starks
  • The Young Bucks vs. Top Flight in a non-title match
  • Orange Cassidy vs. Kip Sabian
  • The Inner Circle’s trip to Las Vegas
