At AEW Full Gear, former NWA World Women’s Champion, Thunder Rosa, made her return to the company during the event’s Buy-In.
Following a bout which saw Serena Deeb retain the NWA World Women’s Championship against former champion, Allysin Kay, with the Serenity Lock, Rosa made a shocking appearance in order to stare down the champion and stake her claim to a rematch.
Thunder Rosa lost the strap to Deeb at UWN Primetime Live on October 27 in a result which set speculation soaring about her future. Many opined that she was on her way to AEW full time. Others stated that she was going to WWE.
All rumours were shot down by NWA President and Owner, Billy Corgan, who categorically stated that Rosa was going nowhere and was contracted to the company until 2021. However, it was mentioned that she would continue to appear for AEW while NWA Powerrr was off of the air.
With Corgan’s company looking set to begin television tapings once again, the NWA are going to need their women’s gold back which means Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb are on a collision course once more on a stage grander than their last meeting.
Though the rematch could potentially take place on an edition of AEW Dynamite, with AEW Revolution just around the corner, we could already have a match of the year candidate before the sands of time begin to slip away on 2021.
