Thunder Rosa Pulled From AAA TripleMania

Thunder Rosa

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide has announced that Thunder Rosa will no longer be wrestling at TripleMania XXX: Mexico City due to injury.

On the August 24 episode of AEW Dynamite, Thunder Rosa revealed that she cannot defend her AEW Women’s World Championship at All Out due to a back injury. This prompted the promotion to crown an interim champion during her absence at the pay-per-view.

However, All Elite Wrestling is no longer the only promotion affected by this injury, as Rosa will now also be missing AAA’s upcoming TripleMania XXX: Mexico City show, where she was scheduled to challenge Taya Valkyrie for her Reina de Reinas Championship. The Mexican promotion aired a video last Friday in which the NWA Women’s Champion Kamille addressed Rosa’s injury and revealed that she will be replacing the AEW Women’s Champion at the event now.

The timetable for Rosa’s return is still unclear. In a recent appearance on the “Busted Open Radio” earlier this week, Rosa discussed the various physical therapy and non-surgical procedures that she has been undergoing to treat the back injury. Moreover, the “La Mera Mera” revealed in her latest vlog titled “I’m Hurt” that she has visited South Texas Spine and Joint Institute where she received spinal decompression and shockwave therapy treatments.

TripleMania XXX: Mexico City is the third installment of the legendary event in 2022. The event is set to take place on October 15 from the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. As of this writing, the “Mask vs Mask” bout between Pentagón Jr and Villano IV is the scheduled main event for the show.
