A new report has offered an update on Thunder Rosa missing AEW Dynamite after it was suggested that the star has become frustrated with the company.
At AEW Double or Nothing Thunder Rosa successfully defended her AEW Women’s Championship against Serena Deeb in what many fans hailed as match of the night.
The two women battled back and forth in a tightly-fought technical contest for almost 17 minutes desperately trying to display their superiority over the other.
It was a bout that had already taken on special significance for Rosa, who wore a special robe to the ring which paid tribute to the 21 victims of the recent Uvalde, Texas, school shooting. The robe will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the victims families.
However, on the following episode of Dynamite, neither Rosa or Deeb appeared on the show and there was no mentioned of their match.
It has now been reported by PWInsider, that the Women’s Champion missed the show through illness. It was noted that Rosa was at the taping, but was sent home as she was not feeling well.
This comes comes as it was reported by Andrew H Murray of WhatCulture, that Thunder Rosa has become frustrated with how little she has been featured on-screen since winning the Women’s Championship. Rosa was also allegedly frustrated that she wasn’t invited to the post-show media scrum in light of the fact she is planning to auction off her ring gear.
The star is said to be “upset” and “confused” over the situation.
This is all playing out against the real-life issues turned storyline situation between MJF and AEW President Tony Khan as the ‘Salt of the Earth’ appears to be trying to engineer a move to WWE.
Interestingly it was reported in May that MJF wasn’t the only star who was frustrated with AEW as others were less than impressed over a “chaotic” backstage environment.
