Thunder Rosa gave fans an update about her concussion recovery.
Former AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa hasn’t competed since the August 31st episode of Collision, where she competed in a four way match against Hikaru Shida, Serena Deeb, and Queen Aminata.
In September, Thunder Rosa revealed that she’d suffered a concussion during the Collision match, and urged fellow wrestlers to take concussions seriously. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the star said:
“If you feel like you have a concussion, make sure you stop. Don’t get in there. It’s not worth it. I can tell you, I’m right now, I’m suffering a concussion, so I’m gonna be out for a little bit, for a couple weeks.” (h/t Fightful)
Dave Meltzer reported in late September that Rosa had been cleared from injury, but the star was quick to dispute that claim, saying in no uncertain terms, “stop lying about my health.”
Thunder Rosa Is Cleared, Thanks AEW’s Medical Team
Now, Thunder Rosa herself has once again taken to Busted Open Radio with a welcome update, revealing that she is finally cleared to return to competition. The star again urged people to take concussions seriously and to get evaluated if they think they could be suffering from one.
“I want to thank the AEW medical [team] and everyone that was involved — I’m finally cleared. If you feel that you have a concussion, please go to your doctor. If you are an athlete, please let your coaches know that this is important.”
