The on-screen rivalry between Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa has been one of the high points in the history of AEW’s women’s division. Back in March 2021 the pair wrestled in an acclaimed Unsanctioned Lights Out Match which was won by Baker. A year later, Rosa got her revenge pinning AEW’s resident dentist to win the AEW Women’s Championship.
However, in August 2022 reports began to emerge online suggesting that their rivalry extended far beyond the confines of the ring. The report claimed that the two women “couldn’t stand each other” while Rosa also had heat with Jamie Hayter. The issues with the British star seemingly stemmed from Rosa giving Hayter a broken nose during a match.
Thunder Rosa And Britt Baker Issues Continue
In recent weeks the situation has gone quiet between the pair with Thunder Rosa currently out of action due to a back injury. However, in a fresh update, Wade Keller of PWTorch has claimed that the issues between the two women are “not solved.”
Keller also commented on the controversy that has has surrounded Sammy Guevara in recent months. The former TNT Champion got into a confrontation with Eddie Kingston in the lead up to AEW All Out which ended in a suspension for the Mad King, while he was recently involved in a dispute with Andrade El Idolo.
Keller explained that people within the company like Guevara but “groan at his decision making.” He added that he’s unsure how the situation regarding the star and Andrade will be addressed going forward.
Despite being out injured, Thunder Rosa has held on to the AEW Women’s Champion. This storyline has seen Toni Storm crowned Interim Champion in her absence. Speaking in a recent interview, Storm claimed that it had been “bothering a lot of people” that Rosa was still calling herself the champion despite being unable to compete.
The Women’s Champion quickly hit back at the comments, describing the conversation around her future and injury as “widespread lies.”
