Thunder Rosa and Riho will team up to take on Dr. Britt Baker DMD and Reba on The Buy-In pre-show for AEW Revolution on Sunday, March 7th.
Announced on AEW Dynamite, the match will see opponents from the AEW Women’s Eliminator Tournament team-up for the first time. Rosa and Riho met in the quarter-finals of that tournament. Former NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa would defeat Riho to progress in the competition.
Dr. Britt Baker herself was part of that same tournament, with sidekick Reba at ringside. She would defeat Anna Jay’s replacement Madi Wrenkowski in the first-round. Baker would then lose to eventual finalist and former AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose in the quarter-finals.
Dr. Baker and Thunder Rosa have a long-standing feud that began not long after Thunder Rosa first competed for AEW. Baker would defeat Rosa in a hard-fought contest at AEW Beach Break at the beginning of February. Rosa would hit an exposed turnbuckle allowing Baker to trap her in the lockjaw submission. The referee would call for the bell as Rosa could no longer defend herself.
Interestingly, Baker and Rosa have faced off in tag team action before. In 2018, wrestling for Ring of Honor, Baker, teaming with Madison Rayne would face Thunder Rosa, teaming with Holidead as The Twisted Sisterz twice. The two teams would trade wins for a victory apiece.
Riho made her return to AEW after nearly a year away due to the pandemic. She would defeat current NWA Women’s Champion Serena Deeb in the first round of the Eliminator Tournament.
Reba, also known as Rebel, has only competed in-ring for AEW twice so far. She would lose to Big Swole in a one-on-one contest and was also part of the three-woman team who lost to Swole in a handicap match.
