Thunder Rosa “Almost Cleared” For In-Ring Return

Thunder Rosa

After a year-long absence from the ring, Thunder Rosa, the former AEW Women’s Champion, has given fans the latest update on her recovery and potential return to wrestling.

Rosa suffered a back injury that forced her to vacate her title in August 2022. However, recent developments indicate that her comeback might be just around the corner.

In a vlog update on her YouTube channel, Thunder Rosa and AEW doctor Michael “Doc” Sampson shared positive news about her recovery. Rosa has diligently followed her training regimen and will be participating in a five-minute mini-match on August 12th to test her progress. Dr. Sampson expressed optimism, stating that if the mini-match goes well, Rosa could be cleared for a full return soon.

Next week, if I can share, we’re going to be in Greensboro, and we’re going to do a five-minute mini-match and see how you tolerate that.

Dr. Sampson praised Rosa for her commitment and adherence to the recovery protocols. He mentioned that Rosa’s body is responding positively, with increasing strength and reduced stress on her injured back. When Rosa inquired about the timeline for her return, Dr. Sampson indicated that three more weeks might be a fair estimate.

Good news. She’s been doing well, we’re at week four. She’s been religious with her training, as she always has been, but religious with her training, doing everything we’ve asked her to do.

During her recovery period, Rosa has stayed engaged with AEW by providing Spanish commentary for the promotion. She has also been part of the AEW Collision promotional package. Rosa expressed her gratitude to Dr. Sampson and AEW for their unwavering support throughout her rehabilitation process. Thunder Rosa had previously spoken to Bleacher Report on July 28th to discuss the timeline for her return.

Will Thunder Rosa Win The AEW Women’s Championship Again?

With Thunder Rosa’s prolonged absence, speculation has arisen regarding the status of the women’s title picture. Hikaru Shida currently holds the championship. However, with Rosa’s return seemingly imminent, it is entirely possible that she will be thrust back into the title race.

In a new update, the former AEW Women’s Champion has revealed that she is ready to return.
