This AEW Star Has Named Rey Mysterio As Their Favourite Match Of All Time

Rey Mysterio Names His Mount Rushmore Of WWE

This top AEW star has named Rey Mysterio as their favourite wrestling match of all time.

Over the past two decades, Rey Mysterio has been one of the top stars in the wrestling industry. With multiple championship wins and a rich history, Mysterio has delivered some of the greatest matches and stories. Recently, Ricochet also hailed Mysterio as one of his favourite matches.

Appearing on ‘Talk is Jericho‘ Ricochet reflected on his several in-ring performances before choosing his first singles match against Mysterio in Lucha Underground as his favourite, where the former Intercontinental Champion was known as Prince Puma.

I always go to me versus Rey Mysterio [as my favorite] just because it’s freakin’ Rey Mysterio. He was, I don’t even know what the word is — gracious. I think he just came back off of knee surgery too, so a lot of his concerns, he was putting them to the side to do things with me, like top rope [hurricanranas] and catch ‘ranas.

He was, not afraid for his knee, but it was in his mind. He put all that to the side and was like, ‘No, let’s do whatever you think.’ So that stuck with me because he could have been like, ‘Oh, my knee. I don’t really want to do anything.’ He could have, and I would have been like, ‘No problem, we’ll get around it,’ but he was like, ‘No, let’s do whatever you want.”

Prince Puma vs Mysterio took place in January 2016 and later aired in June of the same year. Despite his loss against the veteran, Ricochet fondly remembers this bout. Although, the two have faced each other several times later in XWA, WCPW, and WWE.

Ricochet is next scheduled to face Will Ospreay for the International Championship on the 5th anniversary of AEW.

When Is Rey Mysterio Going To Retire?

Turning 50 this year in December, the Hall of Famer has enjoyed an illustrious career. Despite multiple serious injuries, Rey Mysterio is still in great shape and wants to continue wrestling.

Overall, my mind has to be in the right place, so that’s probably the hardest thing for me. Because sometimes the age factor comes into mind and not in the moment, but thinking ahead like I want to be able to still move around and walk at 55 or 56. Is my body going to feel the same? I don’t know.”

In a new interview, Rey Mysterio recalled an unlikely moment that was one of his proudest.
