“Too Fragile To Show Up” – Will Ospreay On Forbidden Door Absences

Will Ospreay

Will Ospreay praised himself for performing at Forbidden Door while throwing shade at some of AEW’s top stars.

Will Ospreay was one of the many NJPW stars who walked through the Forbidden Door a couple of weeks ago. He successfully defended his IWGP United States Championship against Orange Cassidy and then tried attacking him after the match with his faction, The United Empire. As the English star has a lot to be proud of, he recently threw shade at many of AEW’s injured stars.

While on Wrestling Inn, the 29-year-old discussed the build surrounding Forbidden Door and admitted that it was primarily built around AEW and NJPW’s top stars battling against one another. However, he also made reference to how some of those stars couldn’t compete because of injury:

“On AEW’s side, it was built around your Bryan Danielsons, your CM Punk, and your Kennys, and, obviously, on our side of things, it was kind of built around [Kazuchika] Okada, Jay [White], and myself and just like, we delivered on our side of things … AEW sunk millions on those guys, they’re too fragile to show up.”

Bryan Danielson was not cleared to compete against Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door. This led to him choosing Claudio Castagnoli as his replacement for the match and the newest member of The Blackpool Combat Club. Meanwhile, CM Punk was forced out of action due to a foot injury, leading to a tournament that saw Jon Moxley become the Interim AEW World Champion.
