Seth Rollins is currently enjoying one of the most impressive runs of his career.
In the ring, the former Shield star has arguably never been better, while his popularity with fans is at an all-time high. The Visionary is currently starring in the World Heavyweight Championship tournament which will see a new champion crowned at Night of Champions. After overcoming Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura in a Triple Threat quarter-final Rollins dispatched Finn Balor in the semi-finals to secure a match against AJ Styles.
Prior to the tournament, it was believed that Rollins would go on to win and become World Heavyweight Champion on Raw. However, the situation might not be as cut and dried as previously thought.
After missing the May 15th episode of Raw due to filming for his new movie Captain America: New World Order, it has been reported by WRKD Wrestling that there is some hesitancy within WWE to make Rollins champion should his non-wrestling projects continue.
“Seth Rollins #WWERaw segment last night was pretaped due to filming @Marvels “Captain America: New World Order.” While many backstage are very happy for him, there is hesitancy when it comes to putting the new title on him should these roles continue.”
When Was Seth Rollins Last World Champion?
Rollins hasn’t held World Championship gold since winning the Universal Title back in August 2019. To date, the star has enjoyed a total of four World Championship reigns in WWE, while he was also the first-ever NXT Champion.
