The Young Bucks have hilariously responded to Cody Rhodes’ shock return to WWE at WrestleMania 38.
After weeks of rumours and speculation following his shock departure from AEW – the company he helped found – at WrestleMania 38 Cody Rhodes was revealed to be Seth Rollins’ mystery opponent on ‘The Grandest Stage Of Them All’.
With Rollins waiting impatiently in the ring, the AT&T Stadium went dark before the proclamation that “Wrestling has more than one royal family” rang through the venue and ‘The American Nightmare’ rose up from under the stage to one of the biggest reactions of the night from the fans in attendance. Rhodes would go on to defeat Rollins in a barnstormer of a match that saw both men put it all on the line.
Following the show, Rhodes’ friends, and former fellow AEW EVPs, The Young Back updated their Twitter Bio to joke that they thought they “were doing All In 2”.
Famously, The Young bucks and Cody organised ‘All In’ at the Sears Centre in Chicago back in September 2018. It was the biggest independent wrestling show to be held in the US in decades and sold all 11,263 tickets in under 30 minutes. The success of the event directly led to the formation of All Elite Wrestling on January 1st, 2019, with the financial backing of Tony Khan.
Following WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes’ team put out a press release giving a few more details on ‘The American Nightmare’s new WWE deal. The release lauded Rhodes as the “most sought after free agent in professional wrestling” before confirming that he has signed a “multi-year deal” with the company.
