The Young Bucks have added a bold stipulation to their match against AEW Tag Team Champions FTR ahead of the upcoming Full Gear pay-pay-view.

During a sit-down interview during Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, the Bucks stated that if they are not successful in capturing the championships, they will never again challenge for the gold.

Speaking with Excalibur, Matt Jackson explained how the stakes couldn’t be higher, in what many consider to be a dream match:

“At Full Gear, we’re putting it all on the line. If we don’t successfully win the AEW Tag Team Titles, we will never ever challenge for the titles ever again.”

Notably, this stipulation is identical to a match at last year’s Full Gear event, which saw Cody Rhodes lose to Chris Jericho in an AEW Championship Match, resulting in Cody being unable to challenge for the gold again.

A match between the two teams has been a highly anticipated event for a number of years, and a particular talking point amongst online wrestling fans. Both teams have added fuel to the fire with multiple social media posts and comments, including Nick Jackson’s 2018 tweet:

“One day we’ll wrestle The Revival & everyone will rejoice. Remember this tweet.”

Both teams have had their share of championship gold. FTR have held the NXT, SmackDown and Raw Tag Team Championships whilst The Young Bucks have held gold with multiple companies, including Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

Hoping to add the AEW Tag Team Championship to their long list of accolades, Jackson reminded Excalibur that the team have fought hard to get to where they are in today:

“We’re two self made brothers. Two poor kids from Southern California. Nothing was ever handed to us, we had to build ourselves our own ring and teach ourselves how to wrestle…. any time we succeed on the independents, that was because of us, because we bet on ourselves.”

Inside The Ropes will have live coverage of AEW Full Gear on November 7.
