WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has praised Randy Orton as “one of the best talents of our era overall,” highlighting his in-ring ability, longevity, and skill on the microphone.
Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff spoke highly of Orton, crediting him for his consistency and natural talent. While Orton may not have been the highest-paid star in WWE history, Bischoff believes his 20-year tenure at the top speaks volumes.
“I think Randy Orton is one of the best talents of our era overall,” Bischoff said. “He may not have made the most money and probably came damn close. Consistency really matters after 20 years of being on top, but as far as being an overall performer, I love his promos.”
Bischoff also praised Orton’s ability to deliver strong promos, even when the material he’s given isn’t always the best.
“Sometimes, he doesn’t have the greatest material to work with, but when he does, there’s nobody more believable,” he added.
Beyond his mic skills, Bischoff highlighted Orton’s physical presence and natural athleticism, calling him a complete performer.
“His entire body is a freaking entertainment weapon,” Bischoff continued. “He’s built like he came out of some kind of AI central casting application. He is so fluid in the ring that he makes it look so easy, more than anybody else.”
Orton, a 14-time world champion, has been a mainstay in WWE for over two decades. Known for his smooth in-ring style and signature RKO, he continues to be one of the most respected and reliable performers in professional wrestling.
Which WCW Show Does Eric Bischoff Believe Changed The Way WWE Programming Worked Forever?
Eric Bischoff spoke about how he believes the launch of WCW Monday Nitro in 1995 changed the way WWE ran its weekly programming for good. Bischoff said that Nitro’s emphasis on having more pay-per-view quality matches, with top stars wrestling against other top stars and not jobbers like WWE was doing at the time, forced Vince McMahon’s company to change the quality of their TV matches.
