The WWE Star Kevin Nash Wishes He Had A Match With

The WWE Raw Match Kevin Nash Labelled A

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has revealed the one opponent he wishes he’d faced before hanging up his boots: CM Punk.

Speaking on a 2023 episode of his podcast Kliq This, Nash reflected on his brief but memorable feud with Punk in 2011, which sparked fan interest but never led to an in-ring showdown. Nash had returned to WWE television that summer, attacking Punk at SummerSlam and becoming involved in a storyline with Triple H and the newly formed “Authority” figures. Despite the tension and back-and-forth promos between the two, the anticipated match never materialised.

“I never got that match with Punk, I wish I had that,” Nash admitted. “You know what, though, I’ve been blessed, man, I went out for 8 or 9 years of my life and was across a Hall of Famer almost every night, so I don’t have too many regrets.”

The feud came during a time when Punk was reaching the peak of his popularity, following his famous “pipe bomb” promo and WWE Championship win. Nash, who had been mostly inactive in the ring, was briefly brought back as a surprise figure in the storyline but ultimately never wrestled Punk.

While Nash has squared off against some of wrestling’s biggest names during his storied career, including Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, and Goldberg, the lack of a match with Punk stands out as a “what if” moment.

Still, Nash expressed contentment with what he accomplished in the ring. “I’ve been blessed,” he said, underscoring his gratitude for a career filled with marquee matches and Hall of Fame-calibre opponents.

Which WWE Hall Of Famer Did Kevin Nash Say Is The “Greatest Worker That Has Ever Been In The Business”?

Kevin Nash spoke about a fellow WWE Hall of Famer he believes is the “greatest worker that has ever been in the business”, naming Olympic gold medallist Kurt Angle. Nash said that Angle’s run in TNA was excellent, but not many fans may have been privy to his run with the company, as it was not as widely accessible as it is today.
