The WWE Hall Of Famer Who Thought Their Induction Came Too Soon: “I Wasn’t Ready Yet”

WWE Hall Of Fame Changes For 2024

A member of the WWE Hall of Fame did not think that the time was right for their induction as they had a lot more left to prove.

Recognised for his accomplishments and careers in WCW and WWE, Booker T was inducted by his brother and Harlem Heat tag team partner Stevie Ray in 2013. While many felt that the 6 time World Champion was more than deserving of the accolade, Booker T recently admitted that it wasn’t the right time.

Recalling that night on his Hall of Fame podcast, the NXT announcer stated that as he saw the induction as a sign that his career was over he did not feel that 2013 was the right time:

“I didn’t think it was right. I thought I was way too young. I thought it was too early for me to go into the Hall of Fame. I really wasn’t ready yet because I felt like I was going to the Hall of Fame, that meant my career was over. Everything I did was going to be pretty much … putting my out into the pasture.”

When asked about the accolade in general, the Hall of Famer stated that it was not something that was explicitly on his radar but he wanted to be one of the best wrestlers:

“I never saw myself going into the Hall of Fame. It was just never something that was on my radar. I just … really, really always wanted to be the best wrestler. And the thing is, was I going to be the best wrestler? Probably not. But, I did want my name to ring with the best wrestlers. I want my name to ring with, you know, Ric Flair, Nick Bockwinkel, Dusty [Rhodes], Harley Race — all of the great champions. I think I did that,”

Booker T is one of the select few who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame twice as Harlem Heat were inducted in 2019

WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T Calls For Wrestler To Break Away From Team
