The WWE Finisher The Undertaker Loved To Take

The Undertaker recently admitted that it was a lot of fun being on the receiving end of one of the most iconic wrestling finishers of all time.

In 2004 Undertaker returned as The Deadman following the Big Evil persona being buried alive at Survivor Series the year prior. As Undertaker continued to dominate on SmackDown, Randy Orton was on his rise to the top of Raw. Beginning with a star-making performance in a Hardcore match against Mick Foley at Backlash, Orton would win his first World Championship later in the year.

Looking to cement his legacy at WrestleMania 21, Orton set out to do what no one had done before, defeat The Phenom at WrestleMania and break The Streak. Although Undertaker would win that night, the rivalry would continue until the end of the year when The Hall of Famer defeated The Viper inside Hell in a Cell. During the feud, Taker was the victim of many RKOs, which he had no issue with.

During a Q and A on his Six Feet Under podcast, The Deadman revealed that Orton was always great when he was executing the move and it was an easy bump to take:

“When I was still moving really well it was fun kind of taking the RKO. You could actually really make that — Randy was always smooth as silk with it but if your timing was right, you could really lay out well for it and — it wasn’t too terrible on the body to take.”

Not the finisher he first used in professional wrestling, Randy Orton recently revealed why he settled on the RKO as his finisher moving forward.

The Undertaker Praises Top WWE Champion

When discussing the modern era of professional wrestling on his podcast, the Hall of Famer frequently gives his thoughts on some of the top stars of today. When the topic of a particular WWE Champion came up in conversation, The Undertaker explained why he was such a big fan of them.
