The WrestleMania Moment That Seth Rollins Believes WWE Fans Will Never Forget

Seth Rollins has discussed an all-time WrestleMania moment that will live on in history forever.

2015 saw Roman Reigns hated by the WWE fans. Being pushed as the top star when no one wanted him to be, Reigns’ victory at the Royal Rumble was one of the most unpopular choices in the history of the event. Despite The Rock saving Reigns from a further beatdown, the Philadelphia crowd rejected the moment en masse and booed The People’s Champion.

With Brock Lesnar reigning as WWE Champion, fans reluctantly accepted the inevitable that Reigns would finally be coronated as the champion at WrestleMania 31 and would be the top star for the foreseeable future. However, with Lesnar and Reigns down in the main event, Seth Rollins’ music would ring out through the arena with Rollins sprinting down the ramp with his Money in the Bank briefcase in hand. Dubbed The Heist of the Century, Rollins walked out of WrestleMania the new World Champion and celebrated on the top of the ramp as the show went off the air.

Almost 10 years later, this is Rollins’ only involvement in a WrestleMania main event. Speaking with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Rollins noted that he works best when he has a chip on his shoulder and while a lot of iconic WrestleMania events have been forgotten, his 2015 moment will live on:

“It’s one of those things where I work best, I operate best, when I have a chip on my shoulder. In moments of concern and despair, I can tell myself that the cash in was arguably bigger than being on the marquee because there are a lot of main events that we’ve forgotten about at WrestleMania, but you will not forget that moment of me standing on the stage and swinging the title after cashing in. There is that, but like I said, I operate best with a chip on my shoulder. If I feel like there is something that as eluded me or I haven’t accomplished, that’s what drives me forward.”

What’s Next For Seth Rollins In 2024?

Still reigning as World Heavyweight Champion, Rollins will defend the title at WrestleMania against the winner of the Men’s Elimination Chamber match.

As has been previously reported, Rollins is one of many top stars who is approaching the end of his current contract in 2024. In the same interview, Seth Rollins addressed his WWE future and where he is at in terms of contract negotiations.
