The Usos are back, but the dynamic may have slightly changed, as one of them is now an undisputedly accomplished singles star in their own right.
Aside from his two reigns as the IC Champion and holding the World Heavyweight Championship earlier this year, ‘Main Event’ Jey has lately been showing signs of heavy influence from his cousin Roman Reigns, the Bloodline’s Head of the Table. Interestingly, Reigns seems to have evolved from his past self-centered heel nature to now show concern for other human beings like a genuine babyface. However, his recent advice to Uso was more in line with his former gimmick.
This past Monday, Big Jim told his twin brother to his face that he was becoming more and more like the OTC. Jey retorted by stating that his accommodating nature had not been helping, so a change was possibly warranted. The show-closing cliffhanger was of Uso hitting a Spear on a helpless LA Knight, with Jimmy showing disappointment towards Jey and empathy for Knight.
Be that as it may, now that The Usos have reunited, they are booked for WWE Wrestlepalooza on September 20, as they take on The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
The Usos Took An Unexpected Shot At The New Day
It is unclear what they are insinuating, but The Usos took an unexpected and obvious shot at their storied rivals.
On X/Twitter, they claimed that the Street Profits were way better than the “Old Day.” It was a backhanded compliment to Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins while taking an obvious shot at their historic rivals, The New Day.
Street profits are way better than the Old Day… #TagTeamChronicles,” The Usos wrote.
The Usos and The New Day, which also included Big E for most parts, have a blockbuster past. They have faced each other in tag team competition multiple times. Interestingly, Jey and Jimmy surpassed their rival’s record for longest reign when they successfully defended the Undisputed Tag Team Championships by defeating Kingston and Woods on the November 11, 2022, episode of SmackDown.
That apart they have also had some of the best matches in the history of the division or atleast the past decade. Such a blatant callout right off the bat likely means we’re getting another chapter in their long-standing fued, and this also comes as a major boost to the tag team division on the red brand.
As for the Street Profits, their ally, B-Fab, finally broke her silence the other day to raise questions about the dissension between Ford and Dawkins at Clash in Paris. They have been gunning for the WWE Tag Team Championship on the blue brand of late, but to no avail.
Many feel it is time for Ford and Dawkins to part ways and embark on their much-awaited individual singles careers, but hopefully not before they face off against The Usos.
