Bully Ray has heaped praise on The Usos as they continue to impress on WWE SmackDown.
There have been any number of great tag teams in WWE down the decades, but Bully Ray — known as Bubba Ray Dudley in WWE — believes The Usos are at the top of the pile. The veteran is one of the most decorated tag team wrestlers in history himself, but he believes The Usos’ recent work has taken them to a new level.
Jimmy and Jey currently hold the record for the longest World Tag Team Title reign in WWE history and have seen their stock soar as the storyline around The Bloodline has developed.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray explained that this run has taken them well beyond the likes of The Dudleyz and The Hardyz.
“It’s not even a thought for me anymore,” Bully explained, “to me [the best tag team in WWE history is] The Usos and the reason is because when you look at the numbers of what The Usos have accomplished, I don’t think any other team can stake their claim. The most decorated teams of all time in the WWE, Hardys, New Day, Dudleys … we can look at the amount of times a team has won a championship and that’s kinda apples to apples.
We can look at what kind of matches or memorable matches teams have had, all this stuff and everything is a bit of a wash when it comes to the upper-echelon of teams in the WWE. The Usos are involved in an A-storyline, that is generating major money for the WWE.”
What Comes After The Bloodline Vs. The Usos?
While Roman Reigns and The Usos continue to dominate WWE’s main event scene, attention backstage has already begun to turn to what’s next. It was recently reported that WWE management sees the Judgment Day as the successor to The Bloodline and feels that the group is ready to step up to that spot.
With regard to the more immediate future of The Bloodline, Reigns’ empire is continuing to crumble. After The Usos broke away from the faction and Jey pinned Reigns at Money In The Bank, things have become even more personal. This led to Jimmy being beaten down and written off television.
Although it’s not been officially confirmed, Jey Uso is expected to challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at SummerSlam.
