The Undertaker is one of the most revered figures in all of WWE history, and it’s only fitting that he be involved in the 30th anniversary celebration of WWE Raw.
Back in January of 1993, The Deadman was involved in the very first broadcast of the red brand, handily defeating Damien Demento in just over two minutes. His final Raw match came twenty years later in April 2013 when he teamed with Daniel Bryan and Kane in defeat to The Shield. Although ‘Taker continued to wrestle for another seven years, his appearances were confined to premium live events and the occasional house show.
The Undertaker formally retired from in-ring competition at Survivor Series 2020 having defeated AJ Styles in his final match at WrestleMania 36. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2022, and hasn’t appeared on WWE television since April of last year.
A New Report Revealed A Pitch For The Undertaker’s Appearance On WWE Raw Is XXX
The January 23rd edition of WWE Raw is set to be a celebration of 30 years since the red brand’s debut, and it’s set to be a star-studded event with multiple legends in attendance. Undertaker is among the names announced for the extravaganza, and a new report from Fightful Select provides details about what The Deadman may be doing on the show.
According to the report, there was a pitch for ‘Taker to be involved in a segment with Bray Wyatt and LA Knight, who are set to face off at the upcoming Royal Rumble in a Pitch Black Match. Undertaker and Wyatt have a long history, having faced off in singles action back in 2015 at WrestleMania 31.
Due to The Deadman’s limited schedule, Wyatt carried most of the load in building to their clash on the Grandest Stage of Them All, even stealing Undertaker’s lightning powers on an episode of Raw. However, on the night of the match, Undertaker emerged victorious over the younger star.
The Fightful Select report also notes that despite The Phenom being dressed in his American Badass gear on promotional materials ahead of Raw, his traditional Deadman gear was sent to the show to be used for his appearance.
