The Undertaker Shares His Hopes For John Cena’s WWE Farewell Tour

The Undertaker has outlined what he hopes will happen on John Cena’s year-long retirement tour.

Following Cena’s participation in the Royal Rumble match, the 16-time World Champion has now competed in at least one televised match every year since his main roster debut in 2002. While Cena was the runner-up in the match to Jey Uso, fans are still expecting Big Match John to challenge for the top prize at least one more time. While many are hoping to see Cena with the title and break the WWE record, not everyone wants to see the Hollywood star make history.

While appearing as a guest on Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast, YouTuber Justin Danger Nunley brought up that Cena should not win a 17th World Championship due to his career in Hollywood and that now is the time for Cena to put others over. Responding to his guest’s statement, The Phenom said that while he understood the argument, he also wanted to see Cena pick up some big wins and does not see the 16-time World Champion wanting to win every match:

“I know where you’re going with that. He’s on his way out, this is his goodbye tour. I think putting him in marquee spots, he needs to get some wins because he hasn’t won in over 2,000 days. But he needs to get some key wins in whatever the key matches [are]. He should probably pass the baton on. I think that’s his mindset as well. I don’t think by any means he wants to get his hand raised every time, that’s not John’s character. I think he wants to pay it forward and do the best with this that he can do for the company.”

The Undertaker Addresses Infamous Hulk Hogan Moment

At the start of the year, The Deadman was one of many legends to make an appearance at the Raw on Netflix premiere. While the Los Angeles crowd were very happy to see Undertaker appear live, the same could not be said for Hulk Hogan. Also on his podcast, The Undertaker gave his thoughts on the Hulk Hogan appearance that hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

In a separate interview, The Undertaker revealed who he wants to see induct Triple H into the Hall of Fame.
