WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has revealed the legendary horror film characters that inspired him.
Over three decades ago, in 1990, The Undertaker made his shocking WWE debut and immediately made his presence felt on the roster. The former World Champion soon emerged as one of the most dominating forces on the roster and captivated fans with his unique and scary gimmick.
Recently speaking to Stephanie McMahon on Stephanie’s Places, the Hall of Famer opened up on the legendary horror movie characters that inspired his gimmick. Naming several cult classics, The Undertaker said,
“It was kind of a perfect storm. You have to look back to where the product was when I came onto the scene. You had characters that were fun-loving, over the top. Then you had this character come in that was dark, scary, talked about taking your soul. Now instead of watching the Friday the 13th movies and the Halloween movies, now I’m studying, trying to figure out what those characters did. Michael Myers, he’d get run over by a car or shot with a gun. But I’d damned if he didn’t get up. I had to figure out how to make that my own.”

The Undertaker Has Revealed His Mount Rushmore Of Wrestling
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Hall of Famer The Undertaker revealed his Mount Rushmore of Wrestling. Leaving out two extremely popular names, he said,
“You look at time periods and era for Cena then you think about the incredible run that Roman had. In this day and age, where everything happens in a blink of an eye. ‘We don’t like this, we’re going to go in a different direction.’ To be champion for that long, that’s a big testament to his dedication and his work and, and the confidence that the company has.
Right now, yeah (I am sticking with Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Andre the Giant and Stone Cold Steve Austin). Just when you think of those four, their impact that they’ve had on the industry.
I don’t think really for a long time people knew what wrestling was until they they saw Andre on the Johnny Carson Show and all of those places and Flair was the face of that old school wrestling and Hogan transcended the business with the the run in the late 80s.
My goodness, there was no one any more over than Stone Cold Steve Austin ever. Just from where the business was to where it went to, where everyone on the roster is a household name, to be behind that movement or in front of that movement… you’ve got to be on Rushmore for that.”
