The Undertaker Reveals His Favourite WrestleMania Match

The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30

WWE Hall Of Famer The Undertaker has been involved in some of the most memorable WrestleMania matches in history but has revealed which of his 27 matches on the ‘Grandest Stage Of Them All’ is his personal favourite.

The Undertaker selects classic Shawn Michaels bout as his favourite WrestleMania match

After debuting in the WWE in late 1990, The Undertaker made an immediate and lasting impact in the company. It was quickly clear that he was destined for big things and after just a handful of months in WWE he was pitted against future WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Superfly’ Jimmy Snuka at WrestleMania 7.

Snuka was ruthlessly dispatched in quick fashion and the bout was a sign of things to come with ‘The Deadman’ who then shockingly defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series later that same year.

The victory over Snuka would be the beginning of a fabled run of WrestleMania victories that came to be known as ‘The Streak’. Whilst some of the early matches in the run, against the likes of Giant Gonzales and King Kong Bundy are not remembered as all-time classics, the four-time WWE Champion did receive rave reviews for later bouts with Superstars such as ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair, Randy Orton, Edge and Batista.

Iconic pairs of matches with Kane and Triple H would also follow and it was not until WrestleMania 30 that he eventually fell to defeat at the 21st time of asking, when Brock Lesnar rocked the wrestling world with victory over the ‘The Demon Of Death Valley’.

In a recent appearance on Ariel Helwani Meets, The Undertaker would reveal that one bout stood out above all others for him, however:

“It has to be WrestleMania 25 with Shawn. I mean, that was close to perfect that I’d ever been involved in. It was so cool, like, those four matches the two with Shawn and then the two with Triple H. You know, that’s the way I look at it and everything’s about storytelling. Like that’s one continuous story. It’s four WrestleMania’s where the story just kind of kept developing, right? So, you know, heaven or hell, I think with Shawn was the first which was 25 is about as close to perfect a match that I had I’d ever been in”

It was fitting that The Undertaker’s storied career also came to a close at WrestleMania, with victory over AJ Styles in the critically acclaimed Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36.
