The Undertaker was recently praised for his fantastic ability to tell a story in the ring.
The Undertaker was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania weekend this past April. Many celebrated the career of a man who defined not just sports entertainment but also what it meant to have a strong gimmick in the world of pro wrestling. Undertaker, for years, has also been praised for his ability to tell stories inside the squared circle. One such individual who believes wholeheartedly that Undertaker is a terrific storyteller is William Regal.
Speaking on the latest “Gentleman Villain” podcast, Regal named The Deadman the most excellent seller of all time:
“In my opinion, the greatest, if you want to call it, seller – the greatest reactor in the entire industry is The Undertaker, especially when he came back with more of a fighting style. Going into WrestleMania with Shawn Michaels, two matches at that time, you knew that he wasn’t going to lose, right? Nobody thought the streak was going to end, right? … He does such a good job.”
Many fans regard the two matches at WrestleMania between Shawn Michaels and Undertaker as the two most significant matches in both men’s careers. Undertaker went toe-to-toe with Michaels, who was leaning towards the tail end of his legendary career. Though Michaels would end up retiring after his second match with Undertaker, The Deadman would continue to wrestle until his final match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36.
