The Undertaker takes pride in the fact that Vince McMahon could not completely control him.
One of the most protected characters in WWE, The Phenom’s dark and supernatural persona was not utilised for comic relief. When Taker evolved into The American Badass persona in the 2000s, a more human side would be shown, but once again would not be utilised to try and make the fans laugh. However, in 2002, McMahon and a number of top stars did all they could to change this.
During a taping of Raw, Undertaker teamed with Booker T, The Rock and Goldust to defeat Christian, Lance Storm, Test and Triple H. After the bell, Undertaker said that the fans wanted to see a Spinaroonie, to which Booker T gladly obliged. However, the night was far from over as Booker and the fans wanted to see a Takeroonie from The American Badass.
The Rock, Triple H and even Vince McMahon all took turns to execute the move, but Taker still refused. Speaking on the Six Feet Under podcast, the Hall of Famer believes that McMahon is still bothered that he never got his wish:
“It comes up quite a bit. It burns his ass. Let me just say this, he’s ribbed me on so many occasions, and he’s got me really good, but he never got me to do that Spinaroonie. That’s the only carrot that I can hang on his head. As silly as that sounds, that bothers him. I mean, he’s the boss is the boss, right? He gets everything that he wants, and the fact that he couldn’t get me to do the Spinaroonie, I think he lays awake at night thinking about it. Like, ‘I couldn’t get him to do it,’ and it was a great effort to try.”
The Undertaker Names His Latest Mount Rushmore
A frequent topic on the podcast is The Phenom naming the top 4 wrestlers in a specific category. Having already named the top 4 undersized wrestlers and top 4 talkers, The Undertaker named his Mount Rushmore of big men in professional wrestling.
