On the special 30th-anniversary edition of Monday Night Raw, WWE fans finally got to see The Undertaker ‘pass the torch’ to Bray Wyatt.
After confronting LA Knight, Undertaker threw the star to Wyatt, who felled his rival with a Sister Abigail. As the WWE Hall of Famer went to leave he whispered something in Wyatt’s ear. Both men have since commented on the gesture but have refused to divulge what was said.
The moment brought back comparisons between the two stars, as fans debated whether Wyatt can truly be the man to fill the creepy void that The Deadman left behind.
Speaking on Sportsnet’s Tim & Friends, The Undertaker has now had his say on the similarities between the two characters.
“There’s, obviously, a huge amount of comparisons between his character and mine. He’s his own guy. He’s his own character. I don’t think it’s fair to him to compare what he does to what I did. In the big scheme of things, it’s in the same supernatural genre, but it’s 2023, and he’s doing his own thing, but I can appreciate — I can see what he’s trying to do.
I just let him know, too, that my phone’s always on, and if he needs to talk to me about things or run things by me, that’s cool. I would be more than glad to share my experiences with him and hopefully shine some light on questions that he has moving forward. So yeah, it was a cool moment, and it did exactly what I thought it would do.”
Has The Undertaker Ever Wrestled Bray Wyatt?
As The Undertaker wound down his in-ring career many fans believed that Bray Wyatt would become the man to take up his spooky mantle. Eventually, the two met in the ring at WrestleMania 31, but for many, the match and feud underdelivered due to a whole host of circumstances. As a result, when The Undertaker and Wyatt shared a moment in the ring at Raw 30, it set social media on fire.
