Nic Nemeth has his sights set on a certain top star on the AEW roster.
Becoming a free agent at the end of 2023, Nemeth has already made his presence felt across multiple promotions to kickstart his post-WWE career. Beginning with a surprise appearance at Wrestle Kingdom 18, Nemeth would go on to NJPW’s The New Beginning In Sapporo to defeat David Finlay and become the new IWGP Global Champion.
With New Japan previously stating that the title could be defended across multiple promotions, there is a chance that Nemeth may compete in AEW in the near future. With this in mind, who would The Showoff want to steal the show with?
Speaking with Monopoly Events, Nemeth wants to prove himself against none other than Bryan Danielson to once again show the world what he can do, especially with no restrictions that were previously put in place:
“I’d like to be back in [the ring] with Daniel Bryan too, without WWE saying he has to win and protecting him,” Nemeth said. “I want to go one-on-one with a guy that everybody treats as one of the best of all time and in the world and I go ‘You’re not better than me, not by a long shot.’ So I want to fight him one-on-one while everybody watches and goes ‘Oh right, I guess Nic’s pretty good too.’ No, I’m freaking great at this.”
“I would absolutely love that. I have a long list of some Japanese legends that I want to get into because I want to test myself, but man, when I come out on the other side of that, I’m looking for Daniel Bryan. I’m going headbutt him right in the head, knock him down, choke him out, tap him out. You name it, I can’t wait.”
Nemeth and Danielson last went one-on-one back in 2015 on the Raw after WrestleMania 31. Danielson, who was the Intercontinental Champion at the time, retained the title over Nemeth.
Nic Nemeth Comments On Unbelievable WWE Record
Having been a part of WWE for the best part of 20 years, Nemeth was able to rack up a number of impressive accolades including multiple reigns as World Champion and having one of the greatest Money in the Bank cash-ins in company history. Looking back on his time in WWE, Nic Nemeth commented on a record that he believes will never be broken.
