Rey Mysterio has a unique way of adding new moves to his repertoire.
Despite the fact that he has been wrestling since 1989 and could easily ride out the rest of his career by just playing the hits, the Hall of Famer still looks to entertain the fans and throw in something different every now and again to keep his matches as exciting as possible. While some look to perfect their craft with hours of practice to make sure that their new move will be flawless upon its televised debut, Mysterio has a more visual approach to it all.
Speaking with BWGS Pod at WrestleMania weekend, Mysterio admitted that he does not test moves out and instead visualises them while at ringside and may consider trying it at half speed, but the first time it is used will be in front of fans:
“There’s usually no test. What happens is I get very creative visually, and I can sit by ringside and kind of… See the moves that I can possibly try and do and if I if I think I can pull it off I might try it one time at about 50% and if the other 50 I feel I can do easily then I’ll knock it out,”
Rey Mysterio Discusses Controversial Match Victory
Although Mysterio is a former World Champion and Royal Rumble winner among his many accomplishments, there is one match from the Hall of Famer that will live on in infamy due to the unique stipulation. During the same interview, Rey Mysterio was asked if he regrets winning that match.
At WrestleMania, Mysterio and Andrade were victorious over Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar thanks to an assist from the Philadelphia Eagles Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson.
