The Steiner Brothers have been announced as the latest inductees for the 2022 WWE Hall Of Fame where they will join the likes of The Undertaker and Vader.
The Ringer has reported that Rick and Scott Steiner will be inducted into the 2022 WWE Hall Of Fame. The ceremony for the event takes place on the 1st of April after the final SmackDown before WrestleMania 38.
Rick Steiner was the first of the two Steiner brothers to make his name in the wrestling world as part of The Varsity Club in Jim Crockett Promotions and WCW. In the late eighties, Rick was joined by Scott and the duo formed a formidable tag team.
Together the Steiner brothers held the WCW Tag Team Championship on 7 occasions, as well as the IWGP Tag Team Title in New Japan Pro Wrestling twice, and are two-time WWF Tag Team Champions as well.
Dave Meltzer had previously reported on Sunday Night’s Main Event that WWE wanted both Steiner brothers to be inducted but would have settled for Rick Steiner if Scott refused:
“I’ve heard Rick Steiner or The Steiner Brothers, depending on Scott. I think if Scott is not willing, they’ll go with Rick. But they want The Steiner Brothers so that’s a name that’s floating around.”
Scott Steiner has been outspoken about WWE in recent years, launching verbal tirades against the likes of Triple H and repeatedly saying that he’d refuse a Hall Of Fame induction if offered but has apparently now relented.
Scott’s nephew and Rick’s son Bron Breakker is currently a big star in WWE, having burst onto the scene in NXT 2.0 and quickly becoming NXT Champion before losing the title to Dolph Ziggler.
