The Rock’s Next Official WWE Appearance Date Announced

WWE Star Pokes Fun At The Rock's Return, Jokes

The Rock is coming back to WWE.

On the January 6th episode of Raw on Netflix, The Final Boss made his much-awaited return to the Stamford-based promotion. After nearly a year’s absence, The Brahma Bull entered the arena with an erupting crowd.

Recently present at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, Dwayne Johnson made his way to the Raw-Netflix premiere episode tonight, only to surprise fans with a completely new character, more inclined toward babyface traits, rather than his previous heel gimmick.

Hyping up the show, and the crowd, and seemingly diminishing his feud with Cody Rhodes, Johnson confused fans with his current character work. The Rock later came out and acknowledged Roman Reigns, on winning back his Ula Fala and the Tribal Chief status.

Later in a backstage segment, before driving away, Johnson announced his next WWE appearance date. The Rock confirmed his appearance on the January 7th episode of NXT New Year’s Evil, on his daughter Ava Raine’s show. Raine is the current NXT general manager.

The father-daughter duo also recently appeared together at the Golden Globe Awards.

Now possibly aligned with Roman Reigns, fans can expect the duo to not face each other at this year’s WrestleMania.

The Rock Awarded Millions Of TKO Stocks

Having enjoyed a successful 2024, The Rock closed the year with a heavy payday of TKO Stocks. Last year in January, The People’s Champion was announced as a member of the TKO Group Holdings Board of Directors.

As part of that arrangement, he received a huge grant of restricted TKO stock units, including an initial vesting of 96,557 shares in December 2024. The monthly vesting of the remaining shares is scheduled for the rest of 2025.

In other news: John Cena is set to begin his 17th World title journey at the 2025 Royal Rumble.

In regards to the WWE NXT New Year’s Evil special, a new champion is set to be crowned.
