The Roast of Ric Flair attracted many pro wrestling personalities to Nashville, including WWE legend The Rock and current WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler!
‘The Nature Boy’ has been a topic of interest during the ongoing fifth Starrcast convention in Nashville ahead of his final match on Sunday evening. Prior to then, however, a Roast of Ric Flair event was held on Friday, which saw both The Rock and Dolph Ziggler get involved.
They appeared via satellite, sending their love to the 16-time World Champion on what is one of the most crucial weekends of Ric Flair’s career.
The Rock talked fondly of meeting Flair as a child, thanking the two-time WWE Hall of Famer for behind a kind man to both him and his family. Dolph Ziggler, whose video message was posted to the Starrcast Twitter page, commended Ric for being the “greatest of all-time”:
“Ric! You’re an icon, a legend, a 16-time World Champion, and most importantly to me, my windshield repair spokesperson. Ric, you’re the greatest of all time, everyone there loves you tonight, and the second that cheque cleared for this Cameo, I was on this video.
I love you, brother, and I will never, ever forget the times we had in Florida a couple years back, cheers-ing ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund’s dirty Martinis, and talking all hours, all through the night. Dammit, Ric, everyone there loves you, I love you, brother. You’re the greatest of all-time. Now let’s do this, old school style [removes trousers to reveal Ric Flair-style trunks]. Cheers. Woo!”
Many thanks to former World Heavyweight Champion & one of the greatest performers of today, @HEELZiggler, for the message to @RicFlairNatrBoy during the #FlairRoast at #STARRCASTV!

The Roast of Ric Flair also saw the likes of Diamond Dallas Page, Eric Bischoff, and Bully Ray speak about ‘The Dirtiest Player in the Game’, with the event concluding with a speech from Flair himself, promising that he won’t do another retirement match.
He’ll team with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to face Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal at the Jim Crocket Promotions-helmed event on Sunday, 31 July. Fite TV will be airing the event, live from 6:05pm EST (11:05pm for those in the United Kingdom).
