According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 37 faces one major roadblock in the form of insurance.
Due to Dwayne Johnson’s current profession as a major Hollywood actor, Meltzer has highlighted the probability of issues WWE would face in obtaining insurance for Johnson to work with his cousin due to upcoming movie roles.
The Rock hasn’t been inside a WWE ring as an active competitor since defeating Eric Rowan in a very brief impromptu bout at WrestleMania 32 and not seriously since his WWE Championship clash with John Cena at WrestleMania 29, seven years ago.

During his defence of the WWE Championship, The Rock suffered a tear in his abdominal and abductor muscles as well as a hernia. The injury caused the filming of his movie, Hercules, to be delayed while the mega-star underwent surgery.
It is due to the injuries The Rock suffered in that match that Dave Meltzer believes insurance for another battle would be difficult to clear:
“It’s been an issue since the second Cena match.”
Even though ‘The Tribal Chief’ vs. the son of the original chief would be a main event attraction for the ages, with The Rock stepping up to liberate his family’s legacy, it wouldn’t be the first WrestleMania plans WWE have had to cancel regarding ‘The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment.’
Singles matches against Brock Lesnar, Triple H and a doubles outing with The Rock and Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were all scrapped because of the issue of insurance.
The Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37 has been talked about for several years now and should WWE be able to find a loophole in the insurance issue, then the positive implications such a match could have on their product and whoever finally dethrones Reigns would be breathtaking.
