The Rock Teases WWE Return

The Rock

Following his appearance at Super Bowl LVI, The Rock has hinted that he might be heading back to WWE sooner rather than later.

Although he never got to grace the NFL or a Super Bowl as a player, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, tore the house down at Super Bowl LVI as he cut a signature promo to welcome L.A Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals to the field.

During the intro, The Great One threw in a couple of signature catchphrases, notably a nod to his “millions… and millions” of fans around the world. During his time in the ring, Rock would deliver the line with a pause for the audience to respond. Something a number of fans noticed was missing from his Super Bowl routine.

After this was picked up on social media, The Rock responded by saying that the catchphrase, complete with dramatic pause, is coming soon.

With WrestleMania 38 just around the corner, this little hint has added to the speculation that The People’s Champion will be involved in the event in some way.

The Rock isn’t the only former WWE Superstar in the running for a surprise return to the company, as news has broken linking both Stone Cold Steve Austin and Cody Rhodes with comebacks.

After Kevin Owens cut a promo on Monday Night Raw disparaging Texas, home of WrestleMania 38, it was reported that WWE have approached Steve Austin regarding a return to the ring at the event. It has been suggested that should Austin step inside the ropes for the first time in 19 years, he will square off against Owens.

However, a recent report has claimed that the Hall of Famer is yet to agree to compete in the ring.

On February 15th Cody and Brandi Rhodes announced that they have left AEW. Cody had been working without a contract with the company since the end of 2021. It was later reported that his camp have been in touch with WWE over a sensational return to the company which he left in May 2016.
