The Rock discussed a memorable encounter with John Cena at the Oscars, shedding light on why he refrained from seizing a promotional opportunity for WrestleMania.
At the Oscars, John Cena made a conspicuous appearance seemingly in the nude, covered solely by the envelope he was holding. Subsequently, The Rock, alongside Bad Bunny, shared a moment with Cena, prompting discussions about a potential WrestleMania promotion through an on-the-spot altercation.
In a light-hearted exchange with Jimmy Kimmel during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Rock acknowledged the missed opportunity for a WrestleMania promotion, expressing humorously that a half-naked John Cena wasn’t the ideal target for an attack. When Kimmel suggested a fully naked Cena, Rock quipped that he would require Cena to be fully unclothed before considering such an act, emphasising the jest behind his response.
The Rock: Right, a half-naked John Cena isn’t the guy who I want to attack [laughs].
Jimmy Kimmel: You want him fully naked?
The Rock: [Laughs] I need him fully naked before I attack him [laughs]. That was his joke, by the way.
Jimmy Kimmel: I wasn’t kidding.
What Potential WWE Matches Could The Rock Have Post-WrestleMania 40?
Dave Meltzer spoke about The Rock’s WWE involvement post WrestleMania and speculated that he could face Cody Rhodes in a singles match at SummerSlam. Meltzer speculated that it is likely that Rock will have more than one match for WWE this year and while there seems to be concrete plans for him to wrestle Roman Reigns one-on-one, he may also face Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
In recent news, The Rock’s WWE future looks uncertain as new film project could keep him away from in-ring action.
