The Anoa’i wrestling dynasty continues to grow even stronger in the wrestling world with MLW announcing they have signed the cousin of The Rock and Roman Reigns.
Cody Rhodes’ theme song might start with the words “wrestling has more than one royal family,” but arguably the family with the biggest crown in the wrestling world is the Anoa’i family. With heritage that dates back decades to the High Chief Peter Maivia, the lineage of the Anoa’i family encompasses Afa, Sika, Umaga, Rosey, The Usos, Rikishi, Samu, The Tonga Kid, Yokozuna, The Rock, and the current Unified WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Now speaking on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio MLW boss Court Bauer has announced that a member of the family has now put pen to paper on a deal with the company:
“We’ve just signed Lance Anoa’i. Lance is the son of Samu, the cousin of The Rock, cousin of Roman Reigns, and he’s a third-generation wrestler. Grandfather’s Afa Anoa’i, and he’s part of our new era of Samoan Swat Team with Fatu and Big Juicy.”
Lance Anoa’i has previously competed in a handful of matches for MLW before re-debuting at the Kings Of Colosseum 2022 event where he teamed with Juicy Finau to defeat Los Aztecas. His first outing in MLW came in March 2018 when he was defeated by current AEW star, MJF.
