The Rock gets honest about his recent drastic weight loss.
Since his role in turning John Cena heel at Elimination Chamber 2025, The Rock has remained absent from WWE television. Busy filming his planned movies, The Rock was recently spotted in public during the premiere of ‘The Smashing Machine’, where he looked extremely lean.
The Brahma Bull was captured in Venice alongside Emily Blunt in a much leaner physique, without much of his muscle mass. Recently, in an interview with Variety, The Rock revealed the reason for his drastic weight loss. The People’s Champion has reunited with director Benny Safdie for ‘Lizard Music’.
Speaking at the Toronto Film Festival ahead of ‘The Smashing Machine’s’ screening, Johnson revealed,
“Benny pitched me this after. And after about 45 minutes, this pitch ended and I said, ‘I am your Chicken Man.’”
Undergone a radical transformation, Johnson has till now shed around 30lbs of ‘muscle mass’ to play a 70-something-year-old” called Chicken Man.
“I still have a long ways to go. I’m so excited to get a chance to hopefully transform again like I was able to do in ‘Smashing Machine. [It means] eating less chicken.
I felt for a few years, I was pigeonholed because I allowed it to happen. Smashing Machine’ is for me.”
Lizard Music is an adaptation of a Daniel Pinkwater novel. As per Deadline, the plot of the movie goes as follows,
When a boy left to his own devices stumbles upon a secret late-night broadcast of lizards playing otherworldly music, a hidden door to the extraordinary swings open. His search for answers leads him to the eccentric and whimsical Chicken Man and his beloved companion, a 70-year-old chicken named Claudia — two kindred spirits who have also glimpsed the impossible.
United by this shared vision, they set off on an adventure that begins as a hunt for a hidden society but blossoms into something far greater: a voyage through invisible worlds, unexpected harmonies, and the unbreakable bond between lost souls who discover magic not only in what they find, but in each other.”
WWE Legend Reflects Working With The Rock
Like, Dwayne [The Rock] was a lot of fun, like, first off, and he came, and he was very humble, which I wouldn’t expect that. I didn’t expect it. Once I got to know him, I really didn’t expect it. But he was colorful, bright personality like we are. So when you look in the mirror, you see The Rock. That’s who he is. He’s a dominant personality. But there’s never been another human work harder than him. He worked way harder than me at wrestling.”
