The Rock has responded to old rival Chris Jericho after the AEW star took to social media to praise ‘The Great One’ as one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time.
Jericho went public with his praise of The Rock for his in-ring contributions. Like many fans all over the world, Jericho found himself digging deep on YouTube and liked what he saw.
“Going down the @YouTube rabbit hole tonight and one thing is clear….he may be the biggest box office draw in Hollywood today, but my goodness, let’s not ever forget how GREAT @TheRock was in the ring. One of the best ever …”
Now The Rock has himself headed to Twitter to thank Jericho for his words but reminded ‘Le Champion’ that he still owes him for an incident involving tobacco spit.
Rock tweeted:
“This means a lot, thank you brother for these words. You’re one of the GOATS and man the fun we had electrifying the millions around the world. What an honor. And I still owe you a receipt for that tobacco spit incident”

What an honor.
And I still owe you a receipt for that tobacco spit incident 🤢🤣 https://t.co/w9QsVaQbj2— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) May 27, 2021
Jericho famously interrupted The People’s Champion during his very first night in what was the World Wrestling Federation. As Jericho’s Millennium countdown struck zero, Jericho announced that ‘Raw Is Jericho’ before The Rock cut him down to size, reminding the former WCW star that Y2J might have arrived but it still didn’t matter what his name was.
Despite their rivalry with one another, Jericho and The Rock actually held the WWF Tag Team Championship together in 2001 during the ‘Invasion’ storyline. The pair won the titles from The Dudley Boyz before losing them less than two weeks later to Booker T and Test.
