The Rock has commented on shattering a WWE record on his return to the company.
On the Day 1 edition of Raw on January 1st, The Rock made his return to WWE for the first time since September. Ahead of the show, Triple H teased the return of “a former WWE Champion”, and the company appeared to deliver in an underwhelming way when Jinder Mahal made his way to the ring.
However, after the star berated the crowd for several minutes, Rock’s music hit and The People’s Champ came out to a monstrous ovation. After running Mahal down on the mic, Rock got physical and dropped him with a Spinebuster before finishing things with a People’s Elbow.
After dispatching Mahal, Rock got everyone talking when he dropped a major hint that he would challenge Roman Reigns in the near future by asking if he should sit “at the head of the table” when he goes out for a meal.
The Rock’s WWE Return Shattered Social Media Record
WWE later announced that the Raw segment broke its social media record by garnering an astonishing 171 million views across its accounts within days.
The Great One responded to the accolade, saying he can’t take the credit as it’s all thanks to the fans.
“Amazing stuff.
This is all thanks to the people.
They break records, not me.
I just try and look cool, not screw up and not cuss too much #peopleschamp”

In recent months, The Rock’s appearances in WWE have come unannounced, which might seem strange since advertising his return would undoubtedly bring in more viewers. According to a recent report, this is because The Rock is coming back to WWE for the fun of it, rather than ratings.
While many are delighted with The Rock’s recent appearance, one name in WWE is not happy.
