Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson no longer has interest in becoming the President of the United States.
During the past year, The Rock’s name has been brought up on several occasions – in each of the professional wrestling, political, sports and entertainment realms – on the possibility that he could soon have a presidential run. Johnson has previously admitted that he’s done research on a potential 2024 or 2028 bid.
However, The Rock has withdrawn his interest and said that he is no longer considering himself for the job, saying that he wants to focus more on his role as a father.
Appearing on CBS “Sunday Morning” for an interview, The Rock had this to say:
“It’s off the table, yes. It is off the table. I will say this, because it requires the B-side to this. I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy. That’s the most important thing, being a daddy. Number one.
Especially during this time, this critical time in my daughters’ lives because I know what it was like to be on the road and be so busy that I was absent for a lot of years. My first daughter’s growing up in this critical age at this critical time in her life and that’s what the presidency would do.
My number one priority is my daughters. CEO sounds great, but the number one thing I want to be is daddy. That’s it.”
