The Rock Makes Contentious Claim About His Latest WWE Gimmick

WWE Legend The Rock at Elimination Chamber and RAW

The WWE Universe was electrified in early 2024 when The Rock made his return in a much different way than in the past. The Hollywood heavyweight inked a new deal that included a talent contract, IP rights, a spot on TKO’s Board of Directors and more. Rumors and speculation on The Great One picked up when he missed WrestleMania 41 Season, and now things are heating up after Rock’s latest bold claim.

Netflix caused a major stir today by releasing its new WWE Unreal series. The episodes are giving a unique sort of behind-the-scenes look that the company has never authorized before, and that has led to several surprising revelations. One of the hottest fan debates coming out of the Unreal premiere is related to The Final Boss, which is the gimmick The Rock returned with in 2024 for the Road to WrestleMania XL, and the rivalry with Cody Rhodes.

It was revealed before WWE Unreal premiered that The Rock and Triple H had specific roles in the behind-the-scenes series. The fourth episode is titled, “Heel Turn,” and it opens with The Great One describing The Final Boss.

Dwayne Johnson is widely known as The Rock, but related monikers over the years include The Brahma Bull, The Great One, The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment, and The People’s Champion. However, Rock himself has just made an interesting claim about just how great of a heel The Final Boss is, and how this latest transformation feels.

“The Final Boss: the greatest heel professional wrestling has seen. Insurmountable antagonist. There’s nothing The Final Boss can’t do. There’s nothing that The Final Boss can’t say. Becoming this new version has been the most gratifying decision that I’ve ever made,” The Rock said.

The Rock Showcases The Final Boss After WWE RAW

WWE RAW on March 25, 2024 was held at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL. The WrestleMania XL build saw The Rock and Cody Rhodes continue their program with The Final Boss delivering a brutal unhinged beatdown on The American Nightmare.

The Rock took to Instagram after RAW in Chicago that week to share several exclusive photos of The Final Boss, showing the WWE Universe how he pictures his latest gimmick.

“Final Boss. #ChiTown #RAW,” The Rock wrote with the photos below.

The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes is still rumored to happen at some point, while Rock vs. Roman Reigns has been described as more likely. Rock has not wrestled since he and Roman beat Cody and Seth Rollins on Night One of WrestleMania XL.
