The Rock & John Cena Respond To Vince McMahon’s Fan Tribute Video
Two of the WWE’s all-time greats have responded to Vince McMahon’s recent tweet which included a tribute video to the company’s returning fans.
John Cena and The Rock, two wrestlers renowned for their respective relationships with the WWE fanbase both quote tweeted McMahon, with heartwarming words of encouragement.
Fans will be back in the building for tonight’s edition of Smackdown, as well as Sunday’s Money In The Bank event, with McMahon using the video to officially welcome the WWE Universe home.
In his reply, The Rock congratulated Vince and the company on reaching this milestone and noted the importance of a live crowd to the business of professional wrestling.
Congratulations Vince and @wwe Universe on this big milestone.
A live audience is and will always be the backbone of the pro wrestling industry. It’s what fuels our mana and I know what this means to all the wrestlers. Welcome back and as I always say, “move the crowd” 🎤💪🏾 https://t.co/Q008AlkXHR— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) July 15, 2021
Cena echoed this sentiment and perhaps in line with recent reports suggesting that an in-ring return might be on the cards, concluded his tweet with “I’ll be watching very closely..”.
I’m so happy and excited for the @WWE Superstars and of course the BIGGEST superstar IN the #WWE… the @WWEUniverse! I’ll be watching very closely! https://t.co/qtFptLB0Bi

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cena noted that he “wouldn’t have done very well without an audience”, making his response and potential return all the more intriguing.
It will be interesting to see how the fans respond to the product after so long away, and in turn, how WWE approaches the production side, having been in the Thunderdome for the past several months.
