The Rock Issues WrestleMania 40 Challenge To Cody Rhodes With Major Implications

The Rock on the mic on WWE SmackDown

The Rock has responded to Cody Rhodes’ challenge to face him at WrestleMania 40 with a huge counter-offer of his own.

With tensions between the two reaching boiling point, at Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia, Cody Rhodes challenged The Rock to face him one-on-one anytime, and anywhere.

Seth Rollins added to the challenge, saying that he knows no match involving The Bloodline is ever one-on-one, so he will be there in Cody’s corner to back him up.

On the March 1st edition of SmackDown, Rock responded to the challenge. Instead of accepting it, though, he made a counter-offer to his newfound rival.

“We have a counter-offer for you…Cody, you think you’re tough, you and your new best friend, that walking clown emoji Seth Rollins? The Walking Clown show Seth Rollins, you think you’re tough?

“Well, how about this, here’s the challenge. On Night 1 of WrestleMania, the biggest tag team match in the history of the WWE. The biggest tag team match in the history of professional wrestling. It’s gonna be Cody, Seth, against the Universal Champion and The People’s Champion, The Rock.”

The Rock’s Counter-Offer Includes Major Stipulation

The Great One went on to explain that the bout has some major stakes attached to it. If Rhodes and Rollins pull off the victory, then Cody’s title match against Reigns will be Bloodline-free with none of the group’s usual interference.

However, if Rock and Reigns win, the opposite applies, as the title match would become “Bloodline Rules,” meaning the faction can do whatever it takes to stop Rhodes dethroning their Tribal Chief.

Rock went on to say that if Rhodes and Rollins didn’t accept the challenge, then he would do everything in his power to make sure The American Nightmare doesn’t win the title at WrestleMania.

After the challenge was issued, there was one more piece of business to tie up as Roman Reigns demanded that The Rock acknowledge him as The Tribal Chief.

According to a new report, this may not be the only time The Rock competes in 2024.
